Tropical Cloud Systems and Processes (TCSP)

Location: San Jose, Costa Rica  |  Coordinates: 09°59′N 84°12′W

Flights focused on dynamics and thermodynamics of precipitating cloud systems during July 2005, with an emphasis on tropical cyclogenesis, including wave-to-depression transition in the western Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Eastern Pacific Oceans.

• About 100 ER-2 hours flown.
• Coordinated flights with ER-2, NOAA P3's.
• ER-2 Instruments: AMPR, CRS, EDOP, HAMSR, LIP, MTP, MAS, REVEAL.
