Westcoast & Heartland Hyperspectral Microwave Sensor Intensive Experiment (WHyMSIE) NASA Armstrong, Edwards AFB (34°54′20″N 117°53′01″W) WHyMSIE is the very first step forward towards an integrated, intelligent, and affordable PBL observing system of systems. The NASA AFRC ER-2 809 and the NASA LaRC G-III were the only aircraft flying. The ER-2 payload included: Conical Scanning Millimeter-wave Imaging Radiometer - Hyperspectral (CoSMIR-H) Microwave Barometric Radar and Sounder (MBARS) Cloud Radar System (CRS) Cloud Physics Lidar (CPL) Scanning-High-resolution Interferometer Sounder (S-HIS) National Airborne Sounder Testbed - Interferometer (NAST-I) Advanced Microwave precipitation Radiometer (AMPR) MODIS-ASTER Airborne Simulator (MASTER) Airborne Radio Occultation (ARO).
